Central Livestock Annual Meeting Results

SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn. - Central Livestock held its Annual Meeting on March 20, 2008 at the Hilton hotel in Bloomington, Minn. The meeting marked a year of change for the Central Livestock board, with two long-time board members retiring.  Ken Hove of Fosston, Minn. retired after being a board member for 21 years, President for 13 years, and CRI director for nine years.  Kendrick Berg of Osage, IA retired after being a board member for 12 years. Central Livestock thanks both Ken and Kendrick for their dedication to the Board of Directors.

            The two open board positions were filled by Larry Traun of Durand, Wis., and Morris Carlson of Sandstone, Minn. Traun owns a beef cow/calf and Holstein steer finishing operation, along with cash crops.  Carlson owns a beef cow/calf operation called Rocky C Ranch. Both have been long time Central Livestock delegates, and market their livestock through Central Livestock branches. 

            The newly elected Board officers are: Rich Creaser- President, Bill Bertram- 1st VP, Brian Brix- 2nd VP, David Krueger- Secretary. Other Board members include Keith Johnson, Mark LeGare, Darrel Sogn, and newly elected Larry Traun and Morris Carlson.

The purpose of Central Livestock Association is to assist livestock producers in production and marketing by providing competitive prices, superior service and broader outlets through a profitable and innovative organization. Central Livestock has four livestock auction markets, located in South St. Paul, Albany and Zumbrota, Minn., West Fargo, N.D. and a commission firm at the Sioux Falls Stockyards, Sioux Falls, S.D.
